About DUO and our drinks
- Who can order. You must be 18 or older to place an order. Little DUO drinks for children are bought by a parent or guardian.
- Caffeine. Most DUO drinks contain caffeine from tea, and High Key and Extra kick add more (the kick). Each drink page and each can label shows about how much, and we never make a drink with more than 180 mg. Soft Launch, the Electrolytes menu, every Little DUO and any drink made Caffeine free have 0 mg. Health Canada suggests no more than 400 mg of caffeine a day for most adults, and 300 mg for people who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, from all sources. Caffeinated DUO drinks are not for children.
- The kick. The kick (in High Key and Extra kick) is for adults 19 and over and is meant for occasional use: check with a health care practitioner before having it most days for more than 3 months. Do not have it if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or sensitive to caffeine, or with coffee, energy drinks, colas, pre-workouts, caffeine pills or alcohol. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma or an overactive bladder, or take antidepressants, blood thinners or digoxin. Stop if you have trouble sleeping, anxiety or headaches. It is not a substitute for sleep.
- Add-in cautions. These apply whether it is a Plus One or part of a drink on the Collagen or Electrolytes menu. Creatine is for adults 18 and over: ask first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a kidney disorder, and you may gain weight while using it. Collagen: ask first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; it may cause mild stomach upset. Electrolytes add sodium: do not use them with potassium supplements or salt substitutes that contain potassium, and ask first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The electrolyte mix is licensed for adults 19 and over. We do not add anything to a Little DUO.
- Health. Our drinks are food, not medicine. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and nothing on our site, on our labels or in our messages is medical advice. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication or have a health condition, check with your doctor, midwife or pharmacist before you order. You decide whether a drink and its Plus Ones are right for you. The cautions on our drink pages, in our FAQ and on each can label are part of these terms.
- Ingredients and allergens. Every drink is made in one kitchen where milk, soy and wheat are used, so any drink may contain traces of them. Collagen is not vegan. Every can contains sucralose, and some flavours use artificial colours or flavours. If you have an allergy or avoid an ingredient, tell us before you order and we will send you the full ingredient list for your drink. We rely on what you tell us.
- Made to order, storage and safety. Every drink is mixed by hand the day we deliver it, so colour, layers and taste can vary a little from our photos. Once we hand over your order or leave it at your door, keep your drinks in the fridge at 4°C or colder and drink each can by the date on its label. Do not drink a can that is bulging, leaking, or smells or tastes off, or that has been out of the fridge for more than 2 hours. Send us a photo instead (see our Refund policy).
- Ordering for others, gifts and events. If you order drinks for someone else, or give, share or serve them (a gift, an office, a party), you agree to pass on the can label and the cautions on our site that apply to them, and not to give a caffeinated drink to a child. At an event, the host is responsible for telling guests what is in each drink.
- Children. The big DUO is for adults. Little DUO has 0 mg of caffeine. The straws and stickers that come with a Little DUO are not for children under 3, and young children should use them with an adult nearby.
- Names. When you give us a name for a drink or for name stickers, you confirm you are allowed to share it. We may leave off a name we think is offensive.
- Prices and orders. Prices are shown to signed-in members and at checkout, in Canadian dollars. Your order is confirmed when you receive our order confirmation email. If a price on our site is wrong, or we cannot deliver to your address or make your drinks safely, we may cancel the order and refund you in full. We may also decline or change an order that would go over our caffeine limit.
- Secret Menu and founding members. The Secret Menu starts December 1, 2026: one limited drink a month while it lasts. Founding member perks go to the first 100 people who join, one per person and per delivery address, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We may change or end the Secret Menu, but perks you have already received stay yours.
- Limits. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for harm caused by drinks stored or handled against these terms after delivery, by drinks given to someone these cautions apply to, or by information you did not give us, such as an allergy. This does not limit any responsibility the law does not let us limit, including for our own negligence.
- Your rights. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's consumer protection laws. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada.
